About Lewis Davidson

Lewis Davidson is a Mixed Media Artist, based in London. Davidson’s work addresses and subverts notions of value, purpose and stability in consumerist culture. Working directly with found objects through displacement, assemblage, photography, sound and stop-frame animation, Davidson looks to transform our perception of the subjects and inject a new lease of life into the inanimate.

In 2010 Davidson undertook a BA in Fine Art at Chelsea School of Art and Design. 2017-19 Lewis studied at Slade School of Fine Art (MFA, Sculpture), with the addition of the Felix Slade Scholarship and the Deans Bursary. Upon graduation he was awarded the Almacantar Studio Award (2019) and placed on the Deans List of Academic Excellence at UCL. Exhibitions include In from the Cold, (Solo Show, The Stone Space, London, 2021), Future Fossils, with Xxijra Hii  (Manchester Contemporary Art Fair, 2021), Echo System (Thamesside Studio Gallery, London, 2021),  Adjacent Directly (Unit 1, London, 2019), Holiday (ARCADE, London, 2018) and Catch of the Year (DIENSTGEBÄUDE, Zürich, 2017)
