Biography

As a Sculptor and Academic, myPhD thesis A Passage in Women'd Sculpture was published Lambert Academic Press. My work is haptic, of mixed material and generally invites the viewer's touch. The sculpture I make is experiential and materially resonant, reflecting the fragility of the environment and life within it. I am influenced by surrealism and the use of irony in visual work. I also carry out portrait commissions, preferably in cast glass, plus other materials. I have exhibited in the Middle East (Art Dubai 2008) and the UK. This Summer my work will be in Open Studios Cornwall and The Red Earth Gallery, Devon. After another move to Kent, for a larger studio space in 2019, I was isolated by pandemic restrictions. After Lock down, I had a solo show in a Margate Gallery in during September 2021 and showed ceramic work in The Kent Potter's Association in Maidstone Museum the following month.
